Male Anti-Aging Programs Including Hormone Replacement Therapy

Jonathan V. Wright, MD
Medical Director of Tahoma Clinic
Co-Author of “Maximize Your Vitality and Potency – For Men Over 40″

Men can benefit from bio-identical hormone replacement therapy as part of a comprehensive and natural anti-aging program. Dr. Wright’s multi-faceted approach gives a renewed quality of life for male patients.

As men age, the male hormones decline. This is frequently referred to as “andropause”. Symptoms of andropause include decrease in muscle mass and muscle strength, increased body fat and lowered libido, accompanied by decrease in mental sharpness and decrease of overall energy levels.

Evidence suggests that replacing men’s testosterone as it declines can protect men from a variety of age-related conditions, including:

  1. Preventing the decline of sexual ability or re-invigorating sexuality if it has already begun to diminish.
  2. Preventing atherosclerosis, heart attacks, and high blood pressure.
  3. Minimizing loss of muscle mass and strength common to aging.
  4. Keeping the prostate gland healthy.
  5. Prevention of osteoporosis—a common problem for men in their 70s.
  6. Normalizing blood sugar, cholesterol, and HDL (“good”) cholesterol.

In his 31 years of clinical practice, Dr. Wright has developed a thorough anti-aging program which includes components designed specifically for men. During the initial appointment, the patient spends up to one-and-a-half hours with Dr. Wright where all symptoms and health concerns are addressed. Initial recommendations are made, and lab testing for existing levels of testosterone, estrogens, progesterone, DHEA, and other hormones are ordered, along with testing as necessary to help evaluate other aspects of anti-aging therapy. When lab results return, a follow-up appointment is set to discuss the results and establish a complete treatment program.
